Principal Type began in 2015 as a creative studio in Portland, Oregon with a focus on design education. Our work is guided by the principle that strong typography is the heart of effective graphic design. This idea is ingrained in the successes of our students, clients, and collaborators.

As designers and educators, our goal is to inspire future creative careers. We intentionally use daring typography to guide those efforts. Our motto is succinct. Bold design. Justified returns.
